And then.... more walking!

Hola again everyone.

Exchanges otra vez!

I feel like I was just here in this internet cafe. I wonder if time is as fast for you guys as it is here. I'm sure it's not.

Anyways. Lunes after writing, we went home and got our suitcases ready because we had to do "exchanges." Hermana B had to go to a conference in Tijuana, so the Hermanas in the other stake had to baby sit me. They had special transfers that day. So Martes I ended up working with Hna Gonzalez (it was her first day in the area) and Hermana Eye (who doesnt know the area). Needless to say, we were a bit lost all day. Lots and lots of walking. Oh. And then more walking.

This week has been pretty normal. Except the weather. Everyone says they cant believe how crazy its being. Thursday was in the 90s. 91 or 93 or something degrees. Friday and Saturday it was super cloudy and cold. Yesterday was perfecto! Today it cant decide whats gonna happen. Its like a weird warm/cold temperature. I cant describe it.
3 days worth of food for less than 5 dollars!
Fun random things that I have to tell you this week:

Mom, you and grandma should be proud. I have now successfully repaired 3 items of clothing by myself. Obviously it doesnt look as good as if you or grandma would have done it, but still...

One member, in her prayer this week, gave thanks that my Spanish is better and that she can understand me...so, yeah.

I have now started to dream in spanish. Its a pretty cool feeling.

Well...Im kinda out of things to say. The weeks past so fast I cant remember what happened. Im gonna start writing things down so i remember when I get here. Sorry folks.

Love you all!
This is a bit of our view of the zoo. In the cage right there are goats and sheep.
Usually there are rabbits and all kinds of birds running around in the grass.
(seriously if you want to know what it sounds like to live in my apartment,
go to grandma Pugh's house and also imagine that you can hear a lion).
A bit farther over, not in this pic are the camels. lo siento

One Less Investigator this week

I need more pictures for my frames/albums!

So. We have one less investigator this week. :( But it's okay. Because now we have one more new member! Yeah! I had my first baptism. It's kind of a miracle in this ward. The entire zone has called to congratulate us. And Im not joking.
So yeah, this week has been pretty great.
Relief Society on Valentines Day

Elder Bravo put his coat on my seat on the way back, so I sneakily changed the name tags. It was super funny when he realized.

A balloon that we have had since New Years. Don't worry. I have no idea how its still alive

Like I told you last week, we had to go to Tijuana for a conference with Elder Davies of the First Bishopric. So we woke up at 2 am to get ready and be at the Stake Center at 3:30. Got there, waited....waited...waited...The people we rented the bus from forgot us. So the Zone leaders went somewhere for a long time and came back with a bus. So that was cool. We weren´t even late for the Conference. haha. The conference was super great. Bishop Davies and his wife spoke. And also Elder Valenzuela of the 70 and his wife. It was way good. On the way back we drove past the Tijuana Temple. It's gonna be so gorgeous! I'm super excited!
Tijuana Temple

We had intercambios again this week. I went with Hermana E and Hermana R. We can't do normal changes yet because everyone is training. hah. But it was good. I forgot to take pictures though. sorry.
With the American Sisters

Saturday was our baptism! We have worked so hard with her. It was so great to see her finally take that step. She was so happy. She hasn't stopped smiling.

We were supposed to go to Tijuana today at 5 for a conference tomorrow. But they called and said they only want my companera. So I have to be babysat by some other Hermanas. Gonna be super fun... :/

anyways Not too much news this week. Except its really hot. And its not even March. Ay. Im gonna die.
With all of the Hermanas my Comp has trained.

Running out of time! love you lots!

They Made Me Bite the Cake

Me and my Comp
Hola Hola! Another week has passed. I can't believe how fast time goes. Seriously. I say that every week, but Im serious.

Not much happened this week actually. Every Thursday, our ward has Mutual, but its for the whole ward. Every organization has an activity every Thursday. And one week in the month, we have acitividades misional. So this week we were en charge. We had a Noche De Barrio (FHE as a ward). We taught a sweet lesson the was about Helaman 5:12. We played the song "The Wise man and the foolish man" too. It was super great. Karen and Malena came and another Family that we are working with.

Saturday was my birthday! Woot woot! In the morning, Hermana B. made me breakfast
Breakfast from my comp.
and made a cute little card. I opened the package from mom in the morning. I got it at the NDH and all the people said I had to wait until my birthday. So I opened it Saturday and wore the crown during study time. Thanks mom! After study we visited Karen and Malena. (The ones who were supposed to be baptized last week) We were about to start the lesson with them and Malena said "Tengo noticias" ( I have news). She said that she woke up in the middle of the night and all she could think was "Im going to get baptized." I am so excited. Best birthday gift ever. And later, when we were looking for an investigator, we found this lady that is super prepared for the gospel. I love teaching her. She has so many great questions.
My Birthday Cake

They made me bite it!

I got frosting everywhere!

Later, we went with the family del obispo and they had bought me a cake. They sang like 8 different songs before I could blow out the candle...okay 3.. Then they started chanting for me to bite it.. Finally I did. After making sure that the there was no one behind me. I think they wanted to smash my face.. Still got frosting everywhere anyway. It was great. And the cake was freaking delicious.
Obispo's

Tonight we have to be in casa at 8. Because we have to get up super early to go to a conference tomorrow. And by super early, I dont mean 5. I mean 2. We have to be at the stake center (20 minutes away) at 3:30 am. We have a conference with the entire mission tomorrow, so we all have to travel in the morning because theres no place for us to stay the night. The conference starts at 8, so we have to leave here at 4:00. Ay. I am not excited. For the confrrence yes, the journey no.

Random note. Remember those veggie straw potato chips that grandma buys? Mexico loves them. Lots of people set them out when we have lessons. its great.

anyways. Thats about all i can think of. Plus Im running out of tme

Sorry! Love you all!

Mexicali is starting to feel like home

Hola familia! And who ever else is bored enough to be reading my blog.

I'm only supposed to tell you positive things and experiences. However, Im going to break that rule. Shh dont tell Presidente. I'm not going to lie, this week was pretty hard. Our investigators decided they werent ready. So we still haven't had baptisms. The weather has been super whack (really really windy. Which is why Mexicali feels like home..haha). I've been sick this whole week. Like a really bad cold. It's pretty miserable. And I'm not accomplishing my personal goals. So I have had a really hard week, but it's okay. Becuase the Lord still loves me and He still blesses me every day.

Okay. No worries everyone. I'm good. Its all good here. Missions are just hard. SURPRISE!

Okay. Lunes after writing we did some shopping. For groceries...y shoes..oops. We "needed"shoes for the conference we had Wednesday. Annie would love the shoes I bought. They are red.. :) Im in a different place today and dont have my adaptor. So I dont think i can send pictures. I'll have hermana b send me some so i can send them to you. Anyways. It was good.
Red Shoes

Martes...Creo que nothing happened...shoot. I have a bad memory.

Miercoles was good. Except in the conference they asked who has never had a baptism. Guess who was the only one who raised her hand..yeah. That was embarassing. Then they tried to make me feel better by saying that its okay because Im new. That was worse...
With Hermana Carreon (Pres' Wife)

My Hermama and my sisters. The 3 missionaries Hermana B has trained.

Jueves. We didnt have 2 baptisms that we had planned. So that sucked.

Yesterday we had 4 investigators in the Reunion Sacramental! Also we have 2 new baptism dates. So that rocks. There are good things that happen every week. Every day. I just have to remember to look for them.

In the conference, the Mission President told everyon that they have to start working harder on their English. Which I love and all the Spanish Speakers hate. Now every time we make calls to tell the district leader about our week, it has to be in English. I love it. I like to speak really fast to make elder Gallardo understand how I feel. haha.

Oh..Elder Gallardo went home today. Hes our district leader. So thats sad. We have transfers or changes or whatever their called in the US today. But Hermana B and I are staying the same for 6 more weeks. So thats good too.

Sorry this letters is kind of rambly and all over the place.

Love you all!
