Its hot, but I'm getting used to it.

Hola familia!

This was a super fast week. Also a really bad week in terms of numbers/success..

Monday, we went bowling with the elders. Super fun! I love bowling. Except the bowling place plays American music without editing it. The Latinos don't care because they don't understand it. But some songs I sat with my ears plugged, haah.

Tuesday we had a really fun District Meeting. Everyone was super happy and laughing. We don't really know what made this week different, except that the Zone leaders weren't there...haha
In the night, we had Intercambios with the Hermanas de Bella Vista. That was super fun.. I was with Hermana Woodward so we spoke English the whole time...well. not in the lessons. haha
Exchanges -Americans pretending to be Mexicans.

Thursday we had "3 hours of snack time" which is also our Weekly Planning session. haha
Friday Saturday and Sunday were very long days of little success. We don't have members that support us very well still. So we walk a lot...
Every sunday there is one family that accompanies us though. They're super crazy and at first they really annoyed me. But they're pretty funny, so I like working with them.

Also, Sunday I spoke in church again. Now the members don't like us very much because we called them to repentence. haha. I don't know how many members have told us they haven't read the BOM all the way through. One has been a member for 42 years and has never read it. So I talked about how reading the scriptures is a commandment. I wrote a really good talk that was loving but firm. And didn't read any of it. I guess the Spirit thought they needed to be planched...haha

Here we are in Monday again. Its hot, but I'm getting used to it. So It's not too bad.

Love you all. Someday I'll write a good letter. I promise!

By the way....It's really HOT!

A gift from the bishop. Because, as he said "Hay muchas ratas!"
Its pepper spray...
Hola Buenas tardes!

Hope everything is going well with you guys. Not a ton of new stuff has happened here. Except the wind has stopped and now its just pure heat! This week we got up to 42 degrees. Which, if my phone calculates correctly is about 107 degrees farenheit. Apparently this is gonna be the norm for a few more weeks and then it gets hotter. The norm for July is 120-125 during the day. I'm really praying I'm not gonna be here during July...Pero quien sabe?

Ay. I'm running out of time.

Highlights of this week:

It's really hot. But we finally got permission to start using our A/C. We were using it a little before...oops

Exchanges with the other new Americana. She speaks very very little spanish. so I led all the lessons. Fun times. I actually didn't do too bad.

Got mom's package of goodies. The freezer is stuffed with chocolate. Love it!

Its really hot.

Found some great new investigators. Everyone was super commited to come to church. had members pass for the and everything. Still had no one come...urgh.

Had a conference with the  President Tuesday and one with our zone Friday...

Its really hot.

Oh and did I mention its really hot?

Thats all. Sorry folks. I'm super lame this week.

Love you all.

A Week of Firsts

Hola hola!

This week has been insane. It was a really really bad week in numbers. I'm also learning that its hard to get used to a new companion. Hermana Rodriguez is great but it's just different.

This week was a week of firsts.
Tuesday First District meeting with my new comp.

Wednesday first meeting with the ward council with my new comp. Also the hermanas from Bella Vista moved in with us this day. This week the hermanas were looking for a new apartment and they didn't want to pay the rent for May in their old apartment, so they moved in with us Wed night. It was hard to have 4 girls in our chiquita casa but it was pretty fun.

Thursday first baptism with my new comp. Yeah. it was a disaster. Azucena is 11 years old. Her baptism was combined with the baptism of a member. The Mission Leader didn't actually call and make assignments for the talks and stuff. So Hermana R. and I did basically everything. There were kids running in and out. It was not very reverent. But Azucena is super super happy. So thats what matters.
Nothing muy exciting the rest of the week. Our awesome investigators Lupita and Pedro came back this week, so we had a great lesson with them and they came to church! Unfortunately, Lupita, who is 7 months pregnant, got really sick and had to leave before it was over... But we went and checked on her last night and all is good! And she wants to come back next week!

I'm really sorry that it's such a short letter. I really don't have anything new to say. So now it's time for Lectures from your favorite Misionera.

Do your family history. People are waiting to be baptized. If you want to know how they are feeling while they are waiting, read in Alma 40.
Thats all.

Have a great week. Love you all.
